Pauline and Jedidiah are the musical soul of the independent folk band, The Wicks. Small town kids from the Pacific Northwest, a recent migration to the heartland introduced the latest addition to the band, lead guitarist and vocalist John Charles Ledbetter. Pauline’s earthy songwriting and powerful voice has blended a vocal depth that is rare, and demands attention.  Jedidiah rounds out the Trio’s sound with a strong rhythm section that includes mandolin and slide guitars.

Jedidiah first heard Pauline sing from the balcony of an old renovated barn.  For him, it was love at first listen.  He told her, “You were made for this,” and soon they became one another’s biggest fans, and husband and wife.  Weeks after they wed, Jedidiah found himself seated on a plane next to a music producer.  Jedidiah gushed enough to pique his interest, and long story short, in 2011 Jedidiah and Pauline found themselves in L.A. creating what would become The Wicks first EP, “6+ONE.”

Jedidiah first flew to California with Pauline as moral support but realized, if Pauline was going to perform these songs live, she would need a guitar player.  So, he signed up for guitar lessons!  Four months later, with the help of friends, The Wicks released their album and played their first show.

Since then, they’ve found their gritty, perfectly imperfect soul-folk music – geared to “Light up the Dark” – has resounded in the hearts of many.  Their journey that started in the PNW has expanded to Texas.  Gigs at Farmers Markets and Pumpkin Patches have grown to playing the Mumford and Sons “GOTR” Tour, placing 3rd in Texas’ Chevrolet Singer/Songwriter Showdown, being featured on “Good Morning Dallas”, playing a SOLD OUT Seattle Living Room Show and opening for Chatham County Line at Dosey Doe’s Big Barn in Houston, TX.

As a vocalist, Pauline has accompanied Penny & Sparrow; Jackopierce; Leeland; Josh Weathers; Tyler Hilton; as well as Luke Wade and Austin Jenkes of NBC’s “The Voice.”
